The General Board of State Expert Review of Russia (Glavgosexpertiza) issued a positive conclusion on the project for railway station reconstruction in the city of Nizhny Novgorod, the Agency’s press office reports on Monday.
The station complex is planned to be reconstructed by World Cup, which will be held in 2018. The city of Nizhniy Novgorod is among the 11 cities that will host matches of the championship.
Until the data, a renovation of the main station building, passenger platform No. 1 and central tunnel connecting waiting rooms with other platforms is planned to be carried out.
“The entrance of the station will be modernized, the ceilings, floors and walls will be finished, aluminum stained-glass windows will be installed. For the convenience of passengers, including those with disabilities, an additional mezzanine with escalators will be mounted in the main building, the buildings of the complex will be equipped with new ramps, lifts and stairs,” - the press office noted.
