Russia will supply electricity to the Lugansk region, Ukraine’s easternmost area partially controlled by insurgents due to war in Donbass, Ren-TV reports with reference to Boris Gryzlov, Russia’s special envoy to the contact group on settling the situation in Ukraine.
As Boris Gryzlov said, the contact group intended to discuss the Kiev’s decision to terminate power supply in the Luhansk region.
Earlier, the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Lugansk People’s Republic, Sergey Ivanushkin, reported that the self-proclaimed Republic was fully supplied with electricity from its own sources.
The head of the Luhansk Energy Association, Vladimir Gritsay, said earlier that pursuant to the decision of the Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Ministry, from 00:00 on April 25, the supply of electricity to the Lugansk region was scheduled to be stopped.
