Energia, a Russian Rocket and Space Corporation, has signed a settlement agreement with the American company Boeing on debt restructuring of $330 million under Sea Launch program.

In particular, towards the debt repayment, American astronauts will fly to the International Space Station, the head of the company Vladimir Solntsev told RIA Novosti news agency.

“The settlement agreement entered into force on February 22, 2017, and regarding the joint declaration from Boeing and RSC Energia – on March 16, 2017. California’s court made a final decision on the termination of the process. The issue is closed forever,” - Vladimir Solntsev said.

According to him, there were many obstacles to agreement, but eventually a mutual compromise has been reached. The agreement with Boeing on resolving contentious problems surfaced within the course of many-year activities over the project of a floating Sea Launch cosmodrome, now will allow the companies to implement a number of new joint projects.

As a reference, Sea Launch is a spacecraft launch service that exploits a mobile maritime launch platform to carry out equatorial launches.
