The Chinese Nuclear Energy Industry Corporation (CNEIC) and Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation (JNPC) signed a contract for the supply of Russian nuclear fuel, zirconium components for fuel assemblies, as well as for the provision of engineering services for power units at Tianwan nuclear power station.

The deal is estimated at about $1 billion, the company said. The contracts were concluded during the visit of a delegation of JSC TVEL, a Russian fuel company associated with Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation, headed by President Yury Olenin, to the People's Republic of China. During the meeting with the leadership of JNPC, CNEIC, CNNP and CNFC companies, Yuri Olenin noted the successful cooperation of Russia and China in the nuclear field.

“Our cooperation is not confined to fuel supplies. We provide services to support the fuel operation and to transfer units to more efficient fuel cycles,” - the President of TVEL, Yuri Olenin, said.
