By the end of 2017, Xiaomi, a Chinese company, intends to open nearly 20 brand shops in major Russian cities, the company’s Senior Vice President, Wang Xiang, told Vedomosti newspaper.

The brand shops will be opened by Smart Orange company, the Russian subsidiary of Xiaomi partner, RDC Group. Currently, there are four of such shops in Russia – two in Moscow and one per city in Vladivostok and St. Petersburg. In 2017, the company is going to be included in the top 5 manufacturers by the number of sold smartphones in the country.

In addition to its own shops, the company intends to set up an outlet in the shop-in-shop format in major Russian electronics networks, Wang Xiang informed.

Xiaomi was founded in 2010 as a developer of software for digital devices on the basis of Andriod OS. Subsequently, the company produced smartphones and tablets, as well as other digital equipment, such as laptops, TVs, receivers, wearable electronics and even household appliances.
