Swiss Allseas will start laying pipes of the first string of Turkish Stream gas pipeline in summer of 2017, as it follows from Gazprom’s documentation.

“In accordance with the work schedule, the start of pipe-laying of the first string is planned for summer 2017”, the document reads.

Turkish Stream is a project of a non-transit export pipeline running from Russia to Turkey across the Black Sea and next to Turkey's border with neighboring countries.

The first string of the gas pipeline is intended for Turkish market, while the second one is designed to supply the countries in Southern and South-Eastern Europe with gas. The capacity of each string amounts to 15.75 billion cubic meters of gas per year.

As a reference, on the 10th of October 2016, Russia and Turkey signed an intergovernmental agreement on Turkish Stream project.
