Soon, a shipbuilding yard designed to become the world's largest one is planned to be put into operation in China, Life.ru reports on Thursday. The facility is intended to develop nuclear submarines.
The shipbuilding yard is owned by Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Company (BSHIC). As it became known, the plant will begin to carry out the relevant orders in late May. Experts believe that the commissioning of the new such facility will allow China to build four nuclear submarines at the same time.
An assembly plant located in the Chinese province of Liaoning will allow to build submarines upon different projects, including stealth strategic and multi-purpose ones, under any weather conditions and provide protection from surveillance.
