Louis Dreyfus launches its grain terminal in Russian region of Rostov

On the 2nd of May, Louis Dreyfus Company has officially launched its own grain terminal in the Rostov region, Russia.




The opening ceremony of the terminal was attended by the Rostov region’s Governor, Vasily Golubev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Louis Dreyfus Holding B. V. Margarita Louis-Dreyfus, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Switzerland to Russia Yves Rossie.

The terminal combining two berths and ten silos with a total capacity of 50,000 tons is located in the Azov district, near the mouth of the Don River. The facility is planned to be used for grain handling on ships of a mixed “river-sea” type. At the initial stage, the terminal's export capacity will amount to 800 000 tons per year and in the future – up to 1.2 million tons.
