JSC Novatek, a Russia's largest independent natural gas producer, has signed an agreement with the German company Linde AG on the acquisition of a license on the technology of natural gas liquefaction for Arctic LNG-2 project, the company’s statement says.

Also, the Russian company signed a framework strategic cooperation agreement with Technip, Linde and JSC Scientific, Research and Design Institute for Gas Processing (NIPIgas). The document sets out the main terms of cooperation in design and further implementation of projects for LNG plants built on concrete gravity base structure, within the framework of Arctic LNG 2 project, as well as of the subsequent LNG projects of Novatek.

As previously reported, by the end of 2018, the company plans to complete the FEED phase – the preparation of design documents – for Arctic LNG-2 project. The plant is expected to start its operation in 2022 or 2023.
