Following the results of a trilateral meeting, the financial authorities of Japan, China and South Korea adopted an agreement on the fight against protectionism, a clear statement about the confrontation against which was excluded from the final communiqué of G20 financial summit under the pressure of the United States.

The G20 financial summit was held on 17-18 March in the German city of Baden-Baden. One of the most important topics of the meeting was global trade. In their final joint communique, the twenty ministers have not expressed a clear support for free international trade and opposition to protectionism against the background of the US stance on this issue.

“We will resist all forms of protectionism”, — the statement of the Finance Ministers and the Central Bank of Japan, China and South Korea reads. The Ministers held the meeting in the Japanese city of Yokohama.

According to Reuters, it is this line that has been removed from G20 communiqué under the pressure of Washington.
