Russia’s trade balance surplus grew by 49% in 2017

In January – March 2017, trade balance surplus of the Russian Federation has increased by 49%, up to $39.9 billion, compared with the same period in 2016, as it follows from the documentation of Russia’s Federal Customs Service.




For the covered period, exports have increased by 35.2%, up to $83.8 billion, while imports have risen by 25.5%, up to $45.5 billion.

Thus, in the first quarter of the current year, the foreign trade turnover of Russia has increased by 31.6%, up to $129.3 billion.

Over the course of this period of time, the main trade partners of Russia were China, trade with which has increased by 36.8%, Germany (33.3% growth), Netherlands (+45%), Italy (+26%), the USA (+27%), the Republic of Korea (+29.1%), Turkey (+14,6%), Japan (+6.8%), Poland (+57,4%), and France (+23.7%).
