The government of Cambodia will commission the building of a prison with improved incarceration conditions, for the placement in which inmates will have to pay money, Phnom Penh Post reports.
“Those who will be able to pay for the placement, will get an opportunity of accommodation. At the first stage, there will be 400 people. Price will be determined by the (construction) company”, - the newspaper quotes the statement of a representative of the local Prison Management Department.
The source explained that the new prisons would have more spacious rooms and a space to exercise and pray.
Reportedly, the project estimated at $4 million is implemented by the Chinese company Kunn Rekon Holdings.
