Australia plans to invest $56 billion in infrastructure projects, including the building of one more airport in Sydney and high-speed railways.

Such a forecast is envisaged in a ten-year plan for the country’s expenditure, which was introduced together with an annual budget.

The Australian government expects that by year 2020, the budget deficit will be reduced down to 2,5 billion of Australian dollars (1,85 billion US dollars), while in 2021, there will be a net surplus amid the global economic recovery.

These objectives are planned to be attained by means of reducing the expenditure and increasing taxation on banks and companies employing foreigners, MarketWatch reports.

We should remind you that in early May, 2017, the Australian government confirmed intention to invest 5 billion Australian dollars in construction of the second international airport in Sydney.
