Over the course of his visit to the city of Smolensk, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, assigned Minister of Agriculture, Alexander Tkachev, to support construction of greenhouses in the region.

As Construction.RU was told by the regional press office, a project for construction of a greenhouse complex with an area of 17,24 hectares is being currently implemented. The project is estimated at 3 billion rubles ($52 million).

To this end, a loan in the amount of 2,6 billion rubles is required, including that for the first phase of the construction totaling 1,5 billion rubles ($26 million), and for the second phase worth 1,1 billion rubles ($19 million).
