The project envisages construction of a four-lane highway with the length of over 260 kilometers. The road is intended to connect the cities of Kerch, Simferopol and Sevastopol.

The first phase of construction of the highway (two lanes) is planned to be completed by the end of 2018, while the second one (four lanes) is scheduled for late 2020.

On Friday, a groundbreaking ceremony was held 37 kilometers from Simferopol, the administrative center of the Crimean Republic.
