The Ministry for Development of Russian Far East proposes to construct a new Poltavka road bridge running from the Primorsky region in Russia to the Heilongjiang province of China, Russian Minister for the Far East development, Alexander Galushka, said during a working visit to Beijing.
“We (Russia and China – editor’s note) are neighbors, we are close to each other, but we lack the infrastructure to realize the potential of this location. We believe it is necessary to build the Poltavka bridge and comprehensively develop cross-border transport infrastructure”, - Alexander Galushka was quoted by the Ministry’s press office.
The head of the Ministry reminded that, as for the Russian Far East, at present, a bridge from the Russian city of Blagoveshchensk to Chinese Heihe and the first railway bridge between the two countries from Nizhneleninskoye to Tongjiang are under construction.
