China starts construction of transfer dock for Russian shipbuilder

Shipyard of BSIC company in the Chinese town of Qingdao has launched construction of a transfer dock intended for Russian “Zvezda” shipbuilding complex, which is currently under construction in the Russian Far East.




The construction activities are carried out on schedule and in accordance with contractual obligations, RIA Novosti reports citing a message of Rosneft oil company. We should remind you that “Zvezda” shipbuilding complex is being built on the basis of the Far Eastern Center for shipbuilding and ship repair by a consortium of Rosneftegaz, Rosneft and Gazprombank.

Five months earlier, BSIC company began metal cutting for the future dock.

A transportation and transfer dock with a lifting capacity of 40,000 tons is intended for the transfer and launching of vessels with a length of up to 300 meters and with a width of 51 meters, as well marine facilities, in particular drilling platforms.
