In March this year, the Russian Federation has increased the volume of its investment in US Treasury securities by $13,5 billion.
Now, the amount of the investments has reached $99.8 billion, the Ministry of Finance of the United States announced, according to RIA Novosti.
As a result of such a dramatic increase, the Russian Federation has taken the 15th position among the countries holding a portfolio of U.S. government securities. Japan still ranks first with a portfolio totaling one trillion 118 billion dollars. It is followed by a finger's breadth by the People’s Republic of China, which portfolio consists of the US debt amounting to one trillion and 87 billion.
