Leading American transnational companies based in Mexico are no longer afraid of the abolition of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and are going to continue to invest in the country’s economy.

President of the Mexican Council of the Global Companies Board (CEEG) Frederick Garcia stated that understanding of economic benefits has drawn a line under growing concerns that the transaction might be cancelled.

This and other business associations have been actively promoting the benefits of NAFTA to Americans, in order to curb US President Donald Trump’s eagerness to abolish a 3-year-old agreement between the USA, Mexico and Canada.

It is not clear so far, how NAFTA could be revised, but attempts of Mexico to renew an agreement with the EU might be considered quite illustrative, the document’s new items can include provisions to increase corporate responsibility and observance of the law.
