Argentina made a decision to postpone the purchase of MiG-29 jet fighters from the Russian Federation, Interfax reports on Friday with the reference to Sergey Ladygin, a deputy director general of Rosoboronexport, the Russian state company exporting military equipment.

“It is too early to talk about the signing of a contract, because, according to Rosoboronexport’s information, the Argentinian party has decided to postpone indefinitely the implementation of a project for the purchase of fighter aircrafts,” Sergey Ladygin said, answering a question about the timing of the signing of a contract for MiG-29.

“We plan to continue the negotiations as soon as the customer resumes work over the project,” he added.

Earlier it was reported that Russia made proposals to Argentina for the supply of MiG-29 fighters. According to some data, Argentina intended to buy 15 fighter jets.
