A project for the establishment of a Russian industrial zone in a special economic zone in Egypt may not be realized, the head of the Russian-Egyptian Business Council Mikhail Orlov said, Rambler News reports on Thursday.
“Most likely, it will be the case, because, in fact, over the course of 2,5 years, Russia has done nothing related to this industrial area,” Mikhail Orlov told reporters on the sidelines of 2017 Kazansummit, an international event held in the Russian Republic of Tatarstan.
He noted that negotiations were underway, but not agreement has been reached so far.
“I spoke with Russian companies directly and they say they do not intend to build factories in Egypt. How to work with a country that is so far away?” he added.
