Companies engaged in cheese production and processing of cheese products are ready to invest about 3 billion rubles ($52 million) in the establishment of a cheese cluster in the Dmitrov district of the Moscow region, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow regional government, Denis Butsaev, said on Friday.
“We have discussed today the creating a "cheese cluster". It will be (established – editor’s note) in the territory of the Dmitrov district, and its area will amount to 17 hectares. All required infrastructure is planned to be brought there to set up specialized enterprises for cheese-making,” Butsaev said.
According to him, two Italian companies producing cheese and one Russian enterprise have already expressed their interest in the establishment of such cluster. Also, a number companies engaged in the processing of cheese products are interested in the project.
