In April 2017, about 4.2 million square meters of housing have been built in Russia, which is 11.4% less than in the same period last year, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) announced on Monday.
As reported, the drop in the volume of housing construction amounted to 9% in March, 17% in February and to 21.6% in January.
In general, over the course of a period from January to April of 2017, 17.3 million square meters of housing have been erected, which is 14.8% lower than a year earlier. In 2016, approximately 79,8 million square meters of housing have been built, which is 6.5% less than in 2015.
