Unique greenhouses will be built in the Irkutsk region, Russia, upon Chinese projects, the regional Agriculture Minister Ilya Sumarokov announced on Tuesday at a session of the Public Council at the Legislative Assembly.
“Recently, I have visited China on business and there we have examined a number of stock breeding complexes. But most of all we got interested in technology and structure of local greenhouses,” the Minister said.
According to him, their unique design allows to minimize the cost of greenhouses heating. In the northern part of agricultural land, there is a stone wall, which during a sunny day absorbs maximum amount of heat from sunlight. On the southern side, another part of the greenhouse is located in a semicircle, and is made of polyethylene. When nightfall comes, the two parts of the greenhouse are connected with a special curtain, which allows to conserve heat for the whole night.
