IKEA, a Swedish company engaged in designing and selling ready-to-assemble furniture, plans to enter the Ukrainian market, CEO of Mandarin Plaza, Alexander Chernitsky, told Interfax news agency on Monday.

According to him, IKEA is likely to become a holder of the country’s largest trade center – Yuzhny mall, which construction is scheduled for the end of the current year. The facility with an area of 450,000 square meters will be built on a 10,78-hectare plot of land at the address: Glushkova Street, building 9 located in the Goloseevsky district of Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine.

“IKEA is looking in our direction. Their intentions have already been announced, its representatives came here and held meetings. That is, there is a high probability of their entering (the market – editor’s note)”, Alexander Chernitsky said.
