The head of OMV, an Austrian oil company, Rainer Seele expects that a decision of the Norwegian and Russian authorities, and final closure of the deal on the exchange of assets between the Austrian company and Gazprom will be made at the earliest in 2018, RIA Novosti reports on Tuesday.
Under the deal, OMV will get 24,98% stake in a project for the development of two sites of Achimov deposits located in the Urengoy field in Russia, and Gazprom will have 38.5% in the Norwegian OMV Norge AS.
The transaction on the exchange of assets does not involve cash settlement, except for potential payments related to the closing of the deal.
