The former Governor of Udmurtia Alexander Solovyov, who is currently in a pre-trial custody in Moscow, has pleaded guilty to receiving a bribe in the amount of 140 million rubles. The ex-official has now taken a decision to cooperate with investigators.

This is what a representative of the Prosecutor’s Office announced at a hearing on the extension of Alexander Solovyov’s arrest, taking place in Basmanny District Court in Moscow. However, in her opinion, this fact doesn't change the reason for the arrest extension.

We should remind you that, according to investigators, Mr. Solovyov has taken bribes in amount of 140 million rubles from representatives of the companies building bridges near the city of Kambarki in the period between 2014 and 2016. In exchange for the bribes, the ex-Governor pledged to provide an extraordinary payment for construction works from the budget, as well as to issue licenses for sand extraction.
