A new branch railway line is planned to be built in the Russian city of Volgograd by 2018 World Cup, that will run from Gumrak station in the center of the city to an airport.




As Construction.RU was told today by the press office of the local administration, the corresponding agreement was signed on Thursday by Governor of the Volgograd region Andrey Bocharov and the head of the regional branch of the Russian Railways Sergey Almeev.

22 pairs of commuter trains will run along the new 1,2-kilometer branch per day, part of trains will run to the southern areas of the city and to Volzhskiy.

With the opening of the international bus terminal, a major multimodal transport interchange complex will be set up there.
