In 2018, JSC Russian Railways (RZD) are likely to begin the electrification of a railway section of Garmsar – Ince Burun in Iran, director general of LLC RZD International, Sergey Pavlov, told reporters on Wednesday.
“According to our estimates, due to the fact that this project is realized on the basis of international agreements, the launch of the project’s implementation is scheduled for 2018. This is connected with the fact that the procedure is quite complicated both on their part and on our part,” he said.
Mr. Pavlov recalled that the contract with the Iranian Railways also provides for the supply of rails, turnouts, track equipment and locomotives of Russian production.
