10,000-km trade railway route to connect Belgium and China

The Chinese city of Daqing and the Belgian port of Zeebrugge have officially opened a new railway route, according to the railway administration of Harbin, the administrative center of Heilongjiang province in China.




A trade transcontinental railway route between Heilongjiang province and Europe has been opened for the first time, according to China Radio International.

The first train on this route will bring 41 containers with Volvo cars to Belgium.

The project has been implemented with the participation of the Directorate of the Harbin Railways, a container operator China Railways Container Transport and HAO Logistics company. A travel time is 18 days, with the route of almost 10,100 km in length. The train set will pass the territories of Russia, Belarus, Poland and Germany.
