The Russian Railways is planning to launch an unmanned technology in a few years, President of the Russian Railways, Oleg Belozyorov, said at a meeting with reporters at the Strategic Partnership 1520 forum held in Sochi, Russia.

“We are actively working in this direction”, Oleg Belozyorov noted.

According to him, Luzhskaya station is the best one with all required conditions for operation without a human participation. Belozyorov added that the Moscow Central Ring is already prepared for unmanned operation.

“The Moscow Central Ring is ready to operate without a human participation. However, there is a very large passenger traffic, so the question of reliability arises... Hence, we need some period of time, maybe several years, to clearly state that such technology allows us to work without a human participation and at the same time provide full reliability,” he stressed.
