President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev declared the intention to create an international financial center in Astana.
“After the exhibition (Astana 2017 EXPO editor’s note), Astana international financial center will operate there,” Nazarbayev said at a meeting on Thursday with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko, who arrived in Astana for the participation in a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the opening of the world exhibition Astana 2017 EXPO.
“For two and a half years, the entire district with appropriate infrastructure has been built. Residential houses for exhibitors, a hotel complex, congress hall and other facilities necessary for the holding of this major event have been erected,” Mr. Nazarbayev said.
