Major logistics hub will be established in Freight Village Vorsino located in the Kaluga region, Russia, according to CBRE press office.




“For the first time in Russia, a 20-year contract for the provision of terminal and logistics services has been signed between the international logistics company Karl Schmidt Spedition GmbH & Co. KG (KSS) and JSC Freight Village Kaluga, the owner and operator of a container terminal located within Vorsino industrial park”, the message reads.

The document notes, a distribution center will be established for the purpose of creating a logistics hub adjacent to the container yard. KSS has reached an agreement with JSC Freight Village Kaluga on the purchase of an A-class warehouse building with an area of 35,600 square meters. The facility is planned to be upgraded and equipped by KSS for the needs of simultaneous storage of SIBUR products.

A total throughput of the hub will amount to 670,000 tons per year with possible further extension of its capacity. KSS has invested over 2 billion rubles (without VAT) into the project.
