The first flights have been arranged from Grozny, the capital city of the Chechen republic of Russia, to the German city of Munich.
“About 300,000 Chechens live in Europe, by their numerous appeals to the head of Chechnya, it was decided to launch direct flights to Germany. For our compatriots living in Europe, it is of great importance, because until now, they had to fly via Belarus, Georgia, Turkey and Ukraine”, Director General of the Vaynakhavia state enterprise Sultan Gambulatov told TASS news agency on Thursday.
As a reference, Chechnya is located in the North Caucasus, situated in the southernmost part of Eastern Europe, within 100 km from the Caspian Sea.
