Budget funding of the construction of atomic icebreakers, including those of the new class, will be implemented in full, President of Russia Vladimir Putin said over the course of Direct Line on Thursday.
“The funds are provided in budgets, and, of course, there are much longer-term prospects. While not everything is clear with the financing of Leader, but I am sure that we will do it,” the President said.
Vladimir Putin noted that at the moment, the construction of the first of four planned atomic icebreakers with the capacity of 60 megawatts, named Arktika, is carried out at the Baltic shipyard.
“By 2025, we will have one more icebreaker, of a completely different class, twice more powerful than those I have mentioned”, he specified.
