As of today, Russia has funded services and activities within the framework of Belarusian nuclear power plant project in the amount of $2.2 billion, RIA Novosti news agency reports with reference to the Russian government’s documentation.
As it became known, the largest bilateral investment project of the two countries is the construction of Belarusian nuclear power plant with a capacity of 2400 MW and upon a technology of the post-Fukushima period.
“The Belarusian party had only to finance advance payments on the NPP construction (about 10% of the contract value), which were credited by Vnesheconombank at the request of the Belarusian party. With this in mind, Russia is almost fully funding the construction of the Belarusian NPP with loan funds. The works are carried out in accordance with the schedule”, - the document reads.
