In the process of the drilling of Tsentralno-Olginskaya-1 well from the shore of Khara-Tumus Peninsula, the Russian oil company Rosneft has discovered an oil deposit on the shelf of the Eastern Arctic, Interfax news agency reports on Sunday.
According to the company, a threefold core samples collection was carried out from depths from 2305 to 2363, which shows a high oil saturation with a predominance of light oil fractions.
“On the basis of a primary research, it is possible to draw conclusions about the discovery of a new oil deposit, the resource potential volume of which is increasing as the drilling operations continue. Currently, the core samples collection is underway,” the message reads.
