Sakhaenergo, incorporated in the Russian hydroelectricity company RusHydro, has started the construction of three new solar power plants in remote areas of Yakutia, a Russia’s Far East, according to the company’s report.

These projects will partially replace the production of expensive diesel generation that supplies small isolated districts of the Republic with electricity.

In particular, in the village of Sebyan-Kyuel located in the Kobyaiskiy settlement, builders are erecting a solar power station with a capacity of 50 kW. The company has purchased the bulk of equipment and materials, steel structures and solar panels have already been delivered to the site. Vertical layout of the site is being carried out.

Solar energy generation by the new solar power stations will begin in the IV quarter of 2017.

Each station with a capacity of 50 kW will save approximately 15 tons of diesel fuel a year.
