Carlyle Group to invest over $190m in London’s co-working spaces

U.S. investment fund Carlyle Group has entered the London market of flexible workplaces and co-working with a total investment of 150 million pounds ($192 million), according to The Evening Standard.




In particular, the Fund has allocated investment in a project for Adir Group co-working network, one of the owners of which is a native of Russia.

The project, implemented jointly with Carlyle Group, involves the launch of a new brand Uncommon, under which co-working spaces will operate. The American investment fund has acquired an operating business in Islington and two office facility at Boro and Fulham. As it was reported, 1,300 jobs are expected to be created on the basis of the Uncommon.

In the next two years, Uncommon brand will be extended to facilities with high transport accessibility. Thus, co-working will get new clients, including startups, who are interested in flexible working places.
