The Canadian Pratt & Whitney (P&WC) and Ilyushin Design Bureau based in Russia are willing to examine the possibility of the mounting of PW127H engine on Il-114-100 regional aircraft.

The corresponding memorandum was signed by the parties within the framework of an international air show in Le Bourget, France, Kommersant newspaper reports on Tuesday.

According to the newspaper, at the initial stage, P&WC plans to provide two engines. Then the two parties will continue cooperation for the purpose of achieving “long-term agreements on the development of regional turbo-prop programs for Russia and overseas regions”.

The first stage will become a “study of the Il-114 program itself and market prospects from the perspective of the duration and scope of sanctions imposed against Russia.”
