Ford Motor, a US carmaker, plans to invest $900 million in a plant in Kentucky to produce the updated SUV Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator, the company said.
The new models will be exported to over 55 countries, including Lincoln Navigator, which will be exported in China.
At the end of 2015, Ford has invested $1.3 billion in factory and created 2,000 jobs at the plant for production of new Ford Super Duty.
In the second half of the year, the start production of new generation Ford Focus is expected. This model will be supplied to the USA mainly from China, not Mexico. The production of a model of the previous generation will be finished at an assembly plant in Michigan in mid-2018.
