Foreign investment in Russia’s commercial real estate grows due to Asia

In the first half of 2017, the volume of foreign investments in Russian commercial real estate has increased due to Asian investors, the Director of Department of Consulting, Analytics and Evaluation of S. A. Ricci, Alexander Morozov, told reporters.




“In the first half of the year, 16% of investment was made by foreign companies (about $300 million). By the end of 2016, this share was 9%, over the course of the year was $470 million have been invested,” Mr. Morozov said.

The activity of foreign investors has increased, primarily due to Asian investors, he added. “About 70% accounts for Asian money, but they are formed by one large transaction – the sale of Voentorg building to the Chinese company Fosun," he noted.
