The European Commission has received a letter signed by six operators of gas transmission systems from Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic, expressing support for the construction of Nord Stream 2 pipeline, a representative of the EC’s press office told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.
“I confirm that the letter was received. As it is the case with all letters addressed to the European Commission, we will respond at the appropriate level,” the agency’s interlocutor said, answering a question of whether the Commission had that document.
Previously, Bloomberg reported with the reference to the available version of the letter that it was addressed to the head of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker. A letter was signed by Gas Connect Austria, Fluxys Germany, ONTRAS, NET4Gas, Gascade and Gasunie Germany.
