The United States intends by 2020 to enter the global market of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a net exporter, as it follows from a statement published on the White House official website.
Sales of U.S. gas from 2016 to 2040 can increase federal budget’s revenues up to $118 billion. According to the document, gas revolution in the USA will lead to the country becoming a global player as an exporter of LNG.
Since 1953 up to the present time, the United States has been a net importer of natural gas.
On April 28, the US President Donald Trump annulled a decree of his predecessor, Barack Obama, limiting production of minerals on the continental shelf, and expanded oil and gas production in the areas of the Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic oceans, as well as the Gulf of Mexico.
