Russia’s Directorate-General for State Environmental Review has approved a project for construction of a section of R-217 Kavkaz highway at the entrance to Maykop, the capital city of the Republic of Adygea in Russia.

As Construction.RU was told by the agency’s press office, the federal road P-217 goes from the settlement of Pavlovskaya, the Krasnodar region, through Grozny and Makhachkala in the village of Yarag-Kazmalyar on the border with Azerbaijan. A 103-kilometer access road goes from the highway to the capital of Adygea.

The approved section is a road junction situated on the outskirts of Maykop. The projected road passes through the existing Khakurate Street, crosses the railway crossing and goes to a road connecting Maykop and Korenovsk.
