An average cost of a home in the UK in June 2017 increased by 1.1 percentage points compared to the previous month and amounted to 211,301 pounds, according to Nationwide Building Society, the largest mortgage entity in the country.
It noted that in May the decline in housing prices was 0.2 percentage points. Compared to June 2016, the growth of housing prices accelerated up to 3.1 ppt after 2.1 percentage points a month earlier. Analysts predicted the increase of the first indicator by just 0.1%, and the second one by 1.9%.
“UK house prices rebounded in June, with prices rising by 1.1% during the month, erasing the decline recorded over the previous three months,” Nationwide's chief economist Robert Gardner commented.
