The final cost of construction of power facilities intended for FIFA world football championship scheduled for 2018 will be 5,8 billion rubles ($98 million), the Deputy Energy Minister of the Russian Federation Andrey Cherezov told reporters on Monday.
Initially, the amount of funding allocated to the creation of power facilities for 2018 World Cup was estimated at 7,6 billion rubles ($128 million). However, following design activities and optimization of energy schemes, the amount of financing was reduced. The rest was returned to the budget of the Russian Federation.
As a reference, 11 assets are under construction under the relative federal program. Physical readiness of power facilities for 2018 World Cup is 95%.
