Odebrecht, a Brazilian construction giant, has been temporarily prohibited from taking part in tenders for building activities in Argentina, the press office of the Argentina’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Public Works said on Monday.
According to a decision of the national register of construction companies, the ban will be in effect for a period of 12 months. For this purpose, on June 30, a special certificate, which is necessary for any company to participate in public tenders, was terminated, La Nacion reports.
At the same time, Reuter emphasizes that this decision does not apply to those projects that Odebrecht is already implementing in Argentina.
Earlier it was reported that the authorities of a number of states in Latin America received millions in bribes from Odebrecht.
