Hungary has signed with Gazprom an agreement on the integration of its gas transportation system into the Turkish Stream gas pipeline, Hirado reports with a reference to the Hungarian agency MTI.

According to the newspaper, the agreement was signed during a visit to Moscow of the Foreign Minister of Hungary Péter Szijjártó.

The Minister noted that the jointing the southern gas transmission system is the most realistic scenario for cooperation with the Russian state energy company, which had launched construction of the Turkish Stream pipeline because the implementation of other routes of gas supplies through Romania or Croatia is in quastion.

“This is in the national interests of Hungary to have a possibility of joining the southern gas pipeline, so we could purchase natural gas from the south,” Péter Szijjártó said.
