Large plant producing methanol to be built in Amur region

A large plant producing methanol is planned to be erected in the settlement of Skovorodino of the Amur region, Russia, under the state program “Social and Economic Development of the Far East and Baikal Region.”




The project is estimated at 37,5 billion rubles ($626 million).

As Construction.RU was told by the press office of the regional government, the methanol production facility with a capacity of 1 million tons per year will be established at the expense of an investor.

Within the framework of the project’s implementation, over 230 jobs are expected to be created at the enterprise. The methanol plant construction was announced last spring and is scheduled o be completed in 2019.
